In QuickBooks Online, deleted transactions are recorded in the Audit Log, but they cannot be automatically restored. However, you can use the Audit Log to find and manually recreate them. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the Audit Log
1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online.
2. Click the Gear Icon (⚙) in the top-right corner.
3. Select Audit Log under the Tools section.
Step 2: Filter for Deleted Transactions
1. Click the Filter button.
2. Select Deleted/Voided Transactions from the dropdown menu.
3. Set a date range (optional) to narrow your search.
4. Click Apply to view deleted transactions.
Step 3: Locate the Deleted Transaction
• Scroll through the list to find the transaction you need.
• Click on it to view details such as the deletion date and the user who deleted it.
Step 4: Recreate the Deleted Transaction
QuickBooks Online does not have a restore button, so you must manually re-enter the transaction:
1. Review the deleted transaction’s details (amount, date, description, etc.).
2. Enter a new transaction using the same details to match the original.
Step 5: Verify the Entry
• Check your transaction list to ensure the new entry appears correctly.
• Review your financial reports to confirm that the balances are accurate.
