If your card payment is declined or blocked, here are some possible reasons:
Incorrect Card Details
Ensure that you’ve entered the correct card information. Double-check the details from Venn before submitting.
The Merchant Has Blocked the Transaction
Some merchants may block a card due to multiple failed attempts, triggering a temporary hold on new transactions.
Merchants Requiring a U.S. Billing Address
Some U.S. merchants may have additional requirements, such as a U.S. billing address linked to the card, before processing payments. Since we cannot confirm if this is the case, we recommend reaching out to the merchant directly for clarification. Rest assured, your Venn Mastercard is working as expected.
Regional Restrictions on North American Cards
When using North American-issued international cards in Asia, some payment processors may decline the transaction. This is often because they prefer local cards or want to avoid higher processing fees. If you’re unable to link your Venn Mastercard or another international card, this is likely the reason.
Insufficient Funds
Check that you have enough funds in your Venn account before attempting the payment again.
3D Secure Authentication Not Supported
Our partner banks do not support 3D Secure authentication on the Venn Mastercard. Some merchants require 3D Secure authentication for transactions, which may cause your payment to fail.
Mismatch between the billing address and the one on file
Some merchants do additional screening before approving a card purchase by checking for the billing address you entered on the site that you are trying to make a purchase on, and the address listed on your Venn Mastercard. Kindly ensure they match.
What You Can Do:
Wait for some time before trying again, as some merchants may have temporarily blocked the card.
If the issue persists, request a new card with the same limit and use the new card details.
Contact the merchant directly to check if they have additional requirements for card payments.
