Why can't I set up multi-factor authentication (MFA)?

The “Cannot use this phone number” error usually appears for one of two reasons:

  1. Your phone number is already linked to multiple Venn accounts.

  2. The phone number is not from the U.S. or Canada, which is required for the SMS-based multi-factor authentication (MFA) option.

To resolve this and ensure better security, we recommend choosing the “Authenticator App” option instead of SMS when setting up MFA.
