What are sub-accounts?

Sub-accounts let you keep separate balances within your Venn account—like having mini accounts to set aside money for specific purposes (e.g., taxes or large expenses) and help prevent unintentional spending.

Here’s what you need to know about sub-accounts:

  • Balances are shown separately: Funds in sub-accounts are not combined with your main account balances. You’ll see them listed individually in Venn under “Sub-Accounts.”

  • Currency conversion: You can convert funds between supported currencies (CAD, USD, GBP, and EUR).

  • Internal transfers: You can move money between your sub-accounts and main accounts, as long as it’s in one of the supported currencies.

  • Card limitations: Venn Mastercards cannot be linked to sub-accounts, and you cannot spend or pull funds directly from a sub-account using a card.

  • Sending funds: When making payments or transfers, you cannot choose to send funds directly from a sub-account.

Sub-accounts are best used for organizing and managing your funds—not for spending or sending money directly.
